The Investigator, assigned to one of Pinkerton’s clients, is responsible for conducting comprehensive investigations involving corporate interests, including business practices and healthcare fraud. The Investigator will conduct covert surveillance operations to uncover policy violations and fraud.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Pinkerton’s core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  • Conduct objective, thorough, and timely investigations into allegations of healthcare fraud and/or violations of Company policy.
  • Conduct covert surveillance from vehicles and on foot.
  • Prepare and complete surveillance notes and necessary reports.
  • Secure video footage and transfer captured video to other media sources such as DVDs or memory cards.
  • Maintain an assortment of equipment including electronics and motor vehicle maintenance.
  • Provide testimony in a courtroom setting.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field. At least ten years of progressively responsible investigative experience, conducting investigations of internal policies or criminal violations, and eight years of experience in surveillance are required. A CPL or HR 218, LEOSA, and the ability to certify in Ohio (OPOTA) and pass a certified firearms qualification course are required.

 

  • Internal policy or criminal violation investigative experience.
  • Surveillance experience.
  • Knowledge of evidence-gathering techniques within a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of corporate health care disability programs preferred.
  • Able to safely operate a motor vehicle under stressful conditions.
  • Serve as an effective team member.
  • Able to quickly assess and evaluate critical situations.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to sort, prepare, and interpret data into detailed investigative reports.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and/or walking, which may be required for long periods and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
  • Willing to work adjusted and/or flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Travel with little to no advance notice, as required.
